Is NVQ Level 7 Equivalent to a Degree?
No, an NVQ Level 7 is not equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. It aligns with master’s level study. On the Regulated Qualifications Framework, Level 6 represents undergraduate degrees, while Level 7 denotes postgraduate mastery. The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Online – MBA Top-Up Route (120 Credits) sits at this master’s tier, focusing on strategic direction and governance rather than foundational knowledge. It serves as a direct precursor to an MBA top-up, not a replacement for a first degree. Candidates must already hold a Level 6 qualification or substantial experience. This distinction is critical for understanding progression pathways and academic recognition within the UK higher education system.
