is not an academic Master's, but some universities may consider Level 7 NVQ?

The OTHM Level 7 Diploma is not an academic Master’s degree; it is a vocational qualification regulated by Ofqual at RQF Level 7, equivalent to the first year of a UK Master’s. Crucially, this is not an NVQ. It is a knowledge-based diploma assessed via written assignments, focusing on strategic management and leadership competencies rather than workplace performance evidence typical of NVQs. While it holds the same credit value and level as postgraduate modules, universities view it as a professional pathway. Many UK institutions accept it for MBA top-up progression, recognising its strategic focus. It serves as a robust alternative for managers seeking master’s-level recognition without the theoretical depth of a traditional academic Master’s, offering a direct route to an MBA through partner universities.
