is equivalent to an HND or a Foundation Degree?

No, the Level 7 Diploma is not equivalent to an HND or Foundation Degree. Those qualifications sit at RQF Level 5, which is undergraduate level. The Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Online – MBA Top-Up Route (120 Credits) operates at RQF Level 7, placing it firmly at master’s level. This distinction is critical for career progression. An HND or Foundation Degree prepares you for operational management or further undergraduate study. In contrast, this OTHM-accredited qualification develops strategic direction, governance, and organisational capability required for senior leadership. It serves as the final academic step before completing an MBA top-up at a partner university, whereas Level 5 qualifications are foundational. Confusing these levels misrepresents the depth of strategic management and leadership competencies assessed.
