Is CMI Level 7 equivalent to a degree?

No, the CMI Level 7 Diploma is not equivalent to a full degree; it is a professional vocational qualification mapped to RQF Level 7, the same academic level as a UK Master’s degree. However, it does not confer the academic title of "Master" nor does it automatically grant full Master’s status on its own. While it demonstrates advanced strategic capability, it lacks the 180 credits typically required for a full postgraduate award. Many learners combine CMI Level 7 with additional academic credits to access MBA top-up routes, but the CMI qualification itself remains a professional certification focused on leadership practice rather than a standalone academic degree.
