can be considered equivalent to the qualification level of postgraduate studies; however, the two are not equivalents?
The Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Online – MBA Top-Up Route (120 Credits) sits at RQF Level 7, matching the academic level of master’s degree study. However, it is not a master’s degree. It is a standalone vocational qualification regulated by Ofqual and awarded by OTHM. While it provides the 120 credits required for the final stage of an MBA, it lacks the dissertation component and institutional awarding power of a university degree. Graduates must complete a separate MBA top-up module at a partner university to receive the full master’s qualification. This distinction is crucial for strategic direction and governance roles where specific degree titles matter.
