are Management The OTHM Level 7 diplomas on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) are at the same level as master's degrees?

Yes, OTHM Level 7 diplomas are regulated at RQF Level 7, which is the same academic level as master’s degrees. This equivalence is confirmed by Ofqual, the UK’s qualifications regulator. However, being at the same level does not mean the qualification is identical to a master’s degree. A Level 7 diploma is a professional qualification that demonstrates mastery of strategic management and leadership competencies, whereas a master’s degree is an academic award granted by a university. The key distinction lies in the final awarding body and the nature of the assessment. The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Online – MBA Top-Up Route (120 Credits) is designed to provide the necessary academic credits and knowledge base to progress to an MBA top-up module at a partner university. Upon successful completion of the top-up, you receive a full MBA degree. Therefore, while the diploma itself is not a master’s degree, it is a direct, regulated pathway to one, offering a cost-effective and flexible alternative for working managers seeking postgraduate recognition without committing to a full university programme from the outset.
